TULAD ng inaasahan, hindi nasunod ang sabi’y deadline sa submission ng mga pelikulang possible entry sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2016, na dapat ay October 31.

In-extend ito ng another two days, until November 2 (kahapon), pero ngayon, ayon sa head ng MMFF selection committee na si Dr. Nicanor Tiongson, puwede pa ring mag-submit ng entries kahit hindi nakapagbigay ng letter of intent, basta’t kumpleto na ang pelikulang isa-submit.

Heto ang ilan sa mga pelikulang pagpipilian ng official entries:

1. Across the Crescent Moon – starring Matteo Guidicelli, Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Gabby Concepcion, Sandy Andolong, Alex Godinez. Director: Baby Nebrida.

6. Extra Service (Star Cinema) – Coleen Garcia, Arci Muñoz, Jessy Mendiola, Vin Abrenica. Written by Alpha Habon, directed by Chris Martinez.

7. Higanti (Gitana Film Productions) Assunta de Rossi, Jay Manalo, Meg Imperial, Katrina Halili, directed by Rommel Ricafort.

8. Kabisera – Nora Aunor, Ricky Davao, JC de Vera, Victor Neri, Ronwaldo Martin. Written and directed by Real Florido and Arturo Boy San Agustin.

9. Mang Kepweng Returns – Vhong Navarro, Jaclyn Jose, Kim Domingo., directed by GB Sampedro.

10. Mano Po 7 Chinoy (Regal Entertainment) – Richard Yap, Jean Garcia, Jake Cuenca, Jessy Mendiola. Written by Senedy Que, directed by Ian Lorenos.

11. Our Mighty Yaya (Regal Entertainment) – Ai Ai delas Alas, Zoren Legaspi, Megan Young. Written and directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

12. Pak Ganern, Go (Star Cinema) – Vice Ganda & Coco Martin. Directed by Joyce Bernal.

Sayang at wala ang palaging pinipilahang horror movie ng Regal Entertainment ang Shake Rattle Roll. Hindi rin umabot ang Ilawod nina Iza Calzado at Ian Veneracion na may three shooting days pang natitira, hindi na natapos ni Iza dahil isa siya sa jurors sa isinasagawa ngayong Hanoi International Film Festival sa Vietnam.

Marami pang ibang nai-submit na entries na pagpipilian ng Magic 8 ng screening committee.

Sa mga nabanggit sa itaas, halos alam na rin kung alin ang posibleng mapili at tiyak na panonoorin ng moviegoers na naging tradisyon na ang paghahanap ng masasayang pelikula tuwing Kapaskuhan, at iyong magugustuhan ng mga bata. Sabi nga, ang Pasko ay para sa mga bata!
