NAGBIGAY na ng pahayag si Lea Salonga tungkol sa half-brother niyang si Philip Mendoza Salonga (37 years old) na nahuli sa isang buy-bust operation sa Pasig City noong Setyembre 9.
Ayon kay Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, nahuli si Philip sa buy-bust operation ng bandang 2:30 AM habang nasa labas ng isang bar along Ortigas Center, Barangay Ugong, Pasig City.
Itinuro ito ng isang nagngangalang Nathaniel Adrian Cruz ng Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City bilang supplier ng ecstacy.

Ito ang ipinadalang statement ni Lea kay TV Patrol correspondent MJ Felipe tungkol sa kanyang kapatid.
“Philip is my half-brother (same father, but we have different mothers).
“In light of this recent arrest as reported in the news today (Setyembre 9) allow me to say that our family will not in any way hamper the investigation of the police in this matter.
“As with all individuals arrested under similar charges, we call only for due process and a fair trial.
“If he is absolutely guilty of all the charges against him, he needs to take responsibility for his actions. Thank you very much.” (Reggee Bonoan)
