Nanawagan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa taumbayan na makibahagi sa sakripisyo, para na rin sa ikabubuti ng lahat.
Ang apela ng Pangulo ay bahagi ng mensahe nito sa idinaraos na Eid’l Adha, Muslim Feast of Sacrifice, ngayon.
“Let this celebration stand as a reminder that real change requires the sacrifice of our personal interest in favor of the common good of our citizens. Together, we can achieve progress, prosperity and harmony for all,” ayon sa Pangulo.
Nauna nang idineklara ng Pangulo ang Setyembre 12 bilang nationwide holiday. Para sa Muslim community, ang Eid’l Adha ay paggunita sa pagtalima ni Propeta Ibrahim na isakripisyo ang kanyang anak, base na rin sa kautusan ng Diyos.
