Sapat na ang mga nakalap na ebidensya ng gobyerno laban sa dalawang general na sangkot umano sa illegal drug trade.
Sina dating National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Joel Pagdilao at dating Quezon City Police
district Director Edgardo Tinio ang unang dalawang “narco general” na kakasuhan ngayong linggo, ayon kay Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno.
“For the two, maybe I can already mention, Pagdilao and Tinio --- Generals Pagdilao and Tinio --- we are ready with the prima facie case against them, which I will sign when I get back to my office,” pahayag ni Sueno sa press briefing sa Malacañang kahapon.
“We will come out with the cases to be filed against them in due time. So maybe we can wait untiltomorrow. We will publish that tomorrow (ngayong Martes),” dagdag ni Sueno.
Inihahanda na rin umano ang kaso laban kay dating Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo kaugnay sa alegasyong siya ang protektor ng drug traffickers, ayon kay Sueno.
“As for General Garbo, well, he is not in active duty right now. He is neither an elected official so the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) will file cases against him,” aniya.
Pinaplantsa na rin ng gobyerno ang mga ebidensya laban kay dating Region 6 Director Bernardo Diaz sa pagkakadawit umano nito sa ilegal na droga.
“So, it takes some time for us to really gather evidences against General Diaz but we are sure we have the goods against him, we have evidences against him,” paliwanag ni Sueno.
At para naman sa retiradong police general at ngayo’y Daanbantayan mayor na si Vicente Loot, sinabi ni Sueno na nahihirapan silang makakalap ng sapat na ebidensya para sa administrative case “since he is a new mayor.”
“We are conducting lifestyle check on him [Loot] to find out that his assets are not proportionate to his income so that is our strategy,” dagdag ni Sueno. (GENALYN D. KABILING at FER TABOY)
