Pitong milyong Pinoy ang nabubuhay sa P22 kada araw, o ang tinatawag na ultra-poor, na aayudahan ng PhilHealth at International Care Ministries Foundation, Inc. (ICMFI) sa larangan ng kalusugan.
Sa kasunduang pinirmahan ng PhilHealth at ng ICMFI, bibigyan ng health insurance ang pinakamahihirap sa Visayas at Mindanao.
Sa MOA, ieendorso ng PhilHealth at ICMFI ang pinakamahihirap sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) upang mapabilang sa National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction list na saklaw ng health program ng gobyerno.
“Identifying the poorest of the poor in the country to be covered through a large portion of the sin taxes is toward the attainment of universal coverage to all Filipinos,” ani Alexander Padilla, pangulo at CEO ng PhilHealth.
