Mas makasisiguro ang horseracing aficionado nang patas na labanan sa bawat bibitiwang karera bunsod ng ipinasang resolusyon ng Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) para sa post-race drug testing ng mga kabayong kalahok.

Inaprubahan ang Resolution No. 16-16, nitong Pebrero 3, na nagtatadhana sa tatlong pangunahing racing club sa bansa – Manila Jockey Club, Philippine Racing Club at Metro Manila Turf Club – sa pagtatayo ng Philracom’s laboratory set-up para mangansiwa sa gagawing pre at post-race examination.

Ibinatay ng Philracom ang laboratory sa pinapangasiwaan ng Hong Kong Jockey Club at Macau Racing Club na pawang binisita ng technical working group na binubuo ng beteranong veterinarian na sina Andrew Rovie Buencamino at Alejandro Cambay ng Philracom at Romy Modomo.

“Drug testing of horses will serve to protect the public interest,” pahayag ni Philracom Chairman Andrew A. Sanchez.

“Having adequate drug testing facilities is a requirement for membership in the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, something that Philracom has been pursuing for years,” aniya.
