TEHRAN (AFP) — Umabot na sa 33 katao ang namatay sa outbreak ng swine flu sa dalawang probinsiya sa timog silangan ng Iran sa nakalipas na tatlong araw, iniulat ng official IRNA news agency noong Lunes.
Ayon sa IRNA, sinabi ni Deputy Health Minister Ali Akbar Sayyari na 28 ang namatay sa Kerman province at lima sa Sistan-Baluchistan at nagbabala na posibleng kumalat ang H1N1 virus sa ibang lugar kabilang na sa kabisera, ang Tehran.
“The health ministry predicts that the virus will spread in the coming days to Tehran, West and East Azerbaijan and Kermanshah provinces more than to other places,” aniya.
Halos 600 katao ang naospital sa Kerman province dahil sa outbreak, sinabi ng pinuno ng medical university ng probinsiya, si Ali Akbar Haghdoost, sa ISNA news agency.

“Traces of the H1N1 virus were uncovered three weeks ago, and we were the first province to report the epidemic,” ani Haghdoost.
