Nanawagan ang Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID) sa mga lider ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) na sumailalim sa imbestigasyon hinggil sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao encounter.

“We call upon the MILF leaders to cooperate in the investigation, and to submit to the findings. Let the chips fall where they may. If trust and confidence is to be strengthened, there must be an unequivocal commitment to the rule of law by all,” diin ng PCID sa kanilang pahayag.

Bagamat aminado ang grupo na naapektuhan ang tiwala at kumpiyansa ng sambayanan sa peace process, binigyan-diin nito na hindi dapat masakripisyo ang peace process lalo ang panukalang Bangsamoro Basic Law, na magtatatag sa Bangsamoro region na papalit sa Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao.

“The peace process cannot and should not be held hostage by the Mamasapano incident, tragic though it may be,” pahayag ng PCID.

Nakiisa rin ang grupo sa pagluluksa at pakikiramay sa pamilya ng mga nasawi gayundin ang pagkondena sa insidente at umaasang makakamit pa rin ang

kaayusan at kapayapaan sa Mindanao.

“Let us all pray for lasting peace, commit to an abiding respect for human life and uphold the supremacy of the rule of law,” ayon sa PCID.
