Aabot sa P14.8 milyon ang ginastos ng gobyerno sa biyahe ni Pangulong Aquino sa Amerika, ayon sa Malacañang.
Ang halaga ay itinustos sa transportasyon, hotel accommodation, pagkain, kagamitan at iba pang pangangailangan ng Pangulo at kanyang delegasyon, ayon kay Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr.
Kabilang sa official delegation sa biyahe ni PNoy sa US ay sina Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balicasan, Presidential Assistant on Climate Change Secretary Mary Ann Lucille Sering, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., Presidential Management Staff chief Julia Andrea Abad, Presidential Protocol chief Celia Anna Feria, Undersecretary Manolo Quezon at Undersecretary Rochell Ahorro.
“President Aquino will underscore the experience and successes of our country in implementing reforms and in dealing with corruption in government to political and business leaders in the US,” pahayag ni Ochoa.
“He sees this visit to the US as an opportunity to push our agenda on trade, tourism, peace and security, as well as further strengthen our ties between our country and the US,” dagdag niya.
Nagtungo si Pangulong Aquino sa US noong Setyembre 20 matapos ang kanyang walong araw na working visit sa Europe, partikular sa Spain, Belgium, France at Germany.
Sa kanyang apat na araw na pagbisita sa Amerika, unang binisita ni PNoy ang Boston bago ito magtutungo sa New York.
