Naimbiyerna ang isang grupo ng media practitioner sa pagkakapasa sa ikalawang pagbasa sa Kamara ng House Bill No. 4807 na mas kilala bilang “anti-selfie” bill.
Partikular na nag-aalburoto ang College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP), ang pinakamatanda at pinakamalaking student media organization sa bansa, laban sa “anti-selfie” bill.
Matagal nang isinusulong ng CEGP ang pagpapasa ng Freedom of Information (FOI) bill na, anila’y, mas mahalaga at makabuluhan kumpara sa “anti-selfie” bill.
“The bill is very impractical at all levels. In the face of serious and growing concerns of the country, this bill has no space for legislative attention. Not only that it is a waste of time, it is immensely unconstitutional,” pahayag ni CEGP National President, Marc Lino Abila.

Ayon sa grupo, ang kontrobersiyal na panukala ay may layuning higpitan ang sistema ng pamamahayag sa bansa.
“It is an utter violation to our freedom of expression. For us campus journalists, the bill abbreviates the expanse of our coverage. Free coverage is almost impossible through the wordings of this absurd bill,” ayon pa kay Abila. - Rachel Joyce E. Burce
