Nagpositibo sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) si Quezon City 5th District Representative Alfred Vargas, inihayag niya noong Sabado, Enero 8.
“I tested positive for COVID-19, a painful truth that tens of thousands of our fellow Filipinos suddenly had to face this week,” aniya sa isang Facebook post.
“COVID-19 infection has always been a real threat in our line of duty and it is a constant concern for me and our staff, despite the prevention best practices we have put in place,” dagdag niya pa.

Sinabi ni Vargas na sa kabila ng pagiging positibo sa virus, nananatili siyang asymptomatic.
Naka-isolate ngayon ang kinatawan ng lungsod ngunit tiniyak niya na ginagampanan pa rin niya ang kanyang mga tungkulin at responsibilidad habang nasa ilalim ng quarantine.
“I, however, ask for everyone’s prayer of healing and peace of mind—not just for me and those in quarantine and isolation, but also for our nation and the world,” sabi ng mambabatas.
