WALANG kampeong pandaigdig ngayon sa kalalakihan ang Puerto Rico kaya kailangang magwagi via knockout si Vic Saludar para maidepensa ang kanyang WBO miminumweight title kay mandatory at No. 1 contender Wilfredo Mendez sa Agosto 24 sa The Ballroom of the Puerto Rico Convention Center sa San Juan sa nasabing bansa.
“The expected fight between Vic Saludar, WBO champion, and Bimbito Mendez has already a venue and it will be the Ballroom of the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, which specifically (the Ballroom) will feature boxing for the first time, and will be this important event,” sabi ni promoter Iván Rivera sa BoxingScene.com.
“We have worked hard to bring this fight to Puerto Rico and we managed to do it here. We are confident that Bimbito can become a world champion and fill the emptiness of champions (men) we have at the moment,” pahayag naman ni coach Raúl Pastrana, presidente ng Spartan Boxing,

“Makikipagsabayan na lang ako, tutal alam ko ang kahinaan ni Bimbito base sa video ng mga laban niya,” sabi ni Saludar sa Balita. “Ipagdasal na lang ako ng sambayanan na manalo para sa Pilipinas.”
