MATAGUMPAY ang pagdaraos ng SBP-Smart 3x3 Women’s Tournament kamakailan sa Meralco Orange Fit Center sa Ortigas, Pasig City.

Umabot sa 21 mga koponan ang lumahok at hinati sa limang pools kung saan naglaro sila ng tig-4 na elimination games, at ang top-seeded teams ay umusad sa semifinals.

Mas marami ang school-based teams na lumahok ngayon kumpara sa naunang pagdaraos ng torneo kabilang na ang Centro Escolar University, Far Eastern University at Diliman Preparatory School.

Nagdomina sa kompetisyon ang Gilas 1, Gilas 2, NU 1, at NU 2 kasunod ng pangunguna sa kanilang kinabibilangang grupo.

“Natutuwa ako sa enthusiastic turnout of the players. Marami ‘yung school-based whorepresented the sport which is important. Not only are we holding the competition for its sake, but we want to raise the bar in terms of elite competition. We plan on this to be a regular tournament for these up-and-coming players,” pahayag ni SBP 3x3 program director Ronnie Magsanoc.

“Kailangan tuloy-tuloy ‘yung nilalaruan nila para makita rin nila na meron silang malalaruan na regular. It’s laying down the avenue for them to play consistently and regularly against elite teams,” dagdag nito.
