Naniniwala ang isang arsobispo ng Simbahang Katoliko na hindi magtatagumpay ang panukalang Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) na ipinagmamadali ni Pangulong Duterte kung eksklusibo lamang ito sa isang grupo.

Nanawagan si Ozamiz Archbishop Martin Jumoad sa Kongreso na pag-aralang mabuti ang naturang panukala.

Mahalaga, aniya, kung mabibigyan ng patas na oportunidad sa lahat ng aspeto ng BBL ang iba’t ibang sektor ng lipunan.

“BBL must not be exclusive and must give equal opportunities to everybody because a government that is exclusive is not a good government. A government is for the people and for the people and when you only choose a sector then it is destined to be a failure,” pasaring ni Jumoad nang kapanayamin ng Radio Veritas.

Kabilang sa tinukoy ng arsobispo ay ang pagpili sa mga opisyal ng pamahalaan, gayung dapat na lahat ay may pagkakataon na maging bahagi ng gobyerno.

“Positions should be based on credentials and not because of faith affiliations. When you neglect a sector that is part of the government then be careful because there might be another rebellion that will come,” paliwanag pa ni Jumoad.
