“The PCGG wants to assure the public that upon the assumption to office of the appointees of President Rodrigo R. Duterte, they have already discontinued past practices that are considered as excessive and unnecessary,” pahayag ng PCGG.

Kabilang sa mga iregularidad, sinabi ng PCGG na ipinaalam sa kanila ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na “some corporation under the PCGG have opened bank accounts with the Luzon Development (LDB) during the time of former PCGG Chairman Andres Bautista.”

Bilang tugon, sinabi ng PCGG na ang mga account sa LDB “were already ordered to be closed and transferred to their previous depository bank (UCPB) and the Land Bank of the Philippines.”

Noong panahong iyon, sinabi ng PCGG na ang tanggapan nito ay bumili ng “millions of pesos worth of gift checks and gift cards for distribution to its officers, and even to members of the media.”

Siniguro ng komisyon na ang dating gawi ay “already immediately terminated.”

“After the assumption to office of Commissioners Reynold Munsayac, Rey Bulay, and John Agbayani, not a single centavo was ever used to purchase even a single gift check as this previous practice is subject to abuse,” saad sa pahayag.

Nakasaad din na sa nagdaang administrasyon na 56 na beses “the board and stockholders’ meetings were held in luxurious hotels.”

“Board meetings of the concerned sequestered and surrendered corporations should only be held within PCGG premises provided that the number of attendees can be accommodated,” diin ng komisyon.

Sa kasalukuyang administrasyon, sinabi ng PCGG na, sa ngayon, “all of five meetings conducted by the President Duterte appointed board were merely held inside the PCGG office.”
