Sa MMFF 2017 launch at dialogues with the producers last Tuesday, nabanggit na interesado raw sumali sa filmfest sa Disyembre ang Star Cinema, pero hindi pa binanggit kung anong pelikula at kung sino ang bida.
Kahapon lang lumabas ang report ni Katotong Jimi Escala na Darna nga ito na pagbibidahan ni Kathryn Bernardo. Wala pang kumpirmasyon galing sa Star Cinema tungkol dito pero narinig din namin noong Martes sa isang restaurant sa ABS-CBN ELJ Building na si Kathryn na nga raw ang napili para gumanap sa much coveted role.

Back to MMFF 2016 launch, nabanggit ng spokesperson at execom member na si Noel Ferrer na base sa isinagawang dayalogo ay 24 movie producers ang nagpahayag ng intensiyon na sasali sa Metro Manila filmfest ngayong taon.
“Earlier, we had 24 producers na ka-meeting namin for consultation and they aired their side doon sa mga concerns sa rules and regulations and they signified their intent of joining,” kuwento ni Noel.
Ang nabanggit na producer ay ang Artikulo Uno Productions, Octo Arts Films, Viva Films, Premier Accounts, Cineko Productions, BG Productions, IDOLtap Productions, Actorsprime, Inc., T-Rex Productions, Quantum Films, Hollywood Ninja, Coco Martin Creative Productions, The Idea First Company Teamwork Film Productions, Cinema Artist, APT Entertainment, Regal Entertainment, Inc., Culturtain Musicat Productions, Inc., Blackbest, Inc. HPI, K6 Productions, Star Cinema at Reality Entertainment.
Pero iilan pa lang ang mayroon nang titulo ng kanilang projects, ang Panday na si Coco Martin mismo ang gaganap at magdidirek mula sa sariling produksyon; Maruming Hangin ni Joel Lamangan; Ang Larawan na nandito si Rachel Alejandro; Citizen Jake ni Mike de Leon; Mindanao ni Gil Portes at Regal Films/ Idea First Company na My Fairy Tail Love Story ni Jun Lana.
Idinagdag pa na pag-uusapan ng Regal at Idea First kung sino ang lalabas na producer ng My Fairy Tail Love Story dahil, “Ayaw naman natin na maging Regal filmfest or Star Cinema filmfest,” sabi ni Noel.
Hanggang dalawang entry lang ang puwedeng isumite ng bawat producer sa MMFF 2017.
Kahapon, Mayo 10 ang last day ng pagbibigay ng letter of intent ng movie producers.
“So whether finished film or script, malalaman natin sa submission na lang. But tomorrow (kahapon) is the deadline for letter of intent sa pagsali,” say pa ni Noel.
Sa Hunyo 15, naman ang deadline ng submission of script at ang mapipiling Magic 4 ay ia-announce sa Hunyo 30.
Deadline for submission of finished film entries and other required documents including clippings/teaser not later than 5PM of October 2 (early bird) until October 30.
Ang deliberasyon naman ng selection committee ay simula Oktubre 3-16 at announcement ng 4 official finished films entries sa Nobyembre 17 at submission of cash bond na P500,000 at MTRCB ratings sa Disyembre 1. (REGGEE BONOAN)
