Nanawagan si Senator Franklin Drilon sa publiko na maging mapagmatyag at bantayan si Vice President Leni Robredo sa posibilidad na patalsikin ito sa puwesto ng administrasyon.
Ayon kay Drilon, nakababahala ang ganitong sitwasyon lalo dahil sa simula pa man ay tinatrabaho na, aniya, ng administrasyon ang Bise Presidente sa pagtanggal ng P17 bilyon sa pondo ng Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
“The reason for this sinister agenda is clear: when they ultimately install defeated vice presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos as vice president, it will be at the least political cost on the administration. It was alarming.
Where this sinister plot, if not prevented, would lead us is very ominous and disturbing,” ani Drilon.

Nagbitiw kahapon si Robredo bilang chairperson ng HUDCC matapos na sabihan siya ni Pangulong Duterte, sa pamamagitan ni Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco, na huwag nang dumalo sa lingguhang cabinet meeting.
‘UNTENABLE’
“Remaining in your Cabinet has become untenable,” saad sa resignation letter ni Robredo kay Pangulong Duterte na isinumite sa Malacañang kahapon. “With due respect, I am tendering my resignation as HUDCC Chairperson effective immediately.”
“I have exerted all effort to put aside our differences, maintain a professional working relationship, and work effectively despite the constraints because the Filipino people deserve no less,” saad pa niya.
Linggo ng gabi nang ihayag ni Robredo na magbibitiw na siya sa Gabinete ni Duterte bilang housing czar at tinukoy ang “major differences” sa pagitan nila ng Presidente “in principles and views” sa maraming usapin.
Tinukoy din sa pahayag ni Robredo ang aniya’y “plot to steal the Vice Presidency”.
Sinabi pa ni Drilon na tagilid si Robredo dahil mayorya ng mga miyembro ng Korte Suprema ay itatalaga ni Pangulong Duterte.
“I therefore call on the Filipino people to be vigilant and discerning. We must not lose sight of the next important battle: the appointment of the justices of the Supreme Court. If we are not vigilant, the administration can have a full control of the judiciary as it has of the other branches of government,” dagdag ni Drilon
Suportado naman nina Senators Risa Hontiveros, Francis Pangilinan at Bam Aquino ang pagbibitiw ni Robredo sa Gabinete.
MAGING ANG CHEd CHIEF
Samantala, kinumpirma kahapon ni Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Chairperson Patricia Licuanan na siya man, gaya ng Bise Presidente, ay nakatanggap din ng text message na nagbabawal sa kanyang dumalo sa mga cabinet meeting simula kahapon.
Gayunman, naninindigan si Licuanan na hindi siya magbibitiw sa puwesto, at mananatiling CHEd chairperson hanggang Hulyo 2018, batay sa pagkakatalaga sa kanya ni dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino.
