Pinagtibay ng House committee on Southern Tagalog Development at ng House committee on apropriations ang panukalang magtatag ng Quezon-Bicol Expressway.
Ipinasa ng dalawang komite ang House Bill 6475 (Quezon-Bicol Expressway Act). “It provides for the creation of the Quezon-Bicol Expressway (QuBEx) which shall be financed, constructed, operated and maintained by a grantee, offeror, consortium or proponent, under and by virtue of Republic Act No. 6957, as amended by RA 7718, otherwise known as the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Law,” saad sa panukala.
Pag-uugnayin ng QuBEx ang probinsiya ng Quezon at ang Bicol Region na magsisimula sa Malicboy, Quezon at magtatapos sa Sorsogon. (Bert de Guzman)
