TATAWAGING ‘Ignite sa NBA G-League ang koponan na binubuo ng mga collegiate players at kinabibilangan ni Pinoy phenom Kai Sotto.

“We think it’s a fitting moniker for a group comprised of young players taking the first step of their promising professional careers,” pahayag ni NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim sa inilabas nilang statement.

“These players have a passion for the game and a desire to develop their skills for the next level and it brings us a lot of pride for them to blaze trails as inaugural members of NBA G League Ignite.”

Bukod kay Sotto, tampok din sa koponan ang Fil-Am prospect na si Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Daishen Nix, Isaiah Todd at Princepal Singh.

Sasailalim ang koponan sa pagsasanay ni head coach Brian Shaw at mga staffs nito na sina assistant coach Rasheed Abdul-Rahman, video coordinator Jerry Woods, at athletic trainer Pete Youngman sa kanilang homebase sa Walnut Creek, California.

Kumpara sa karamihan ng mga G League squads, ang’ Ignite’ ay walang affiliations sa kahit na anong NBA team.
