Pasig cops gumamit na ng body cams

Upang matiyak ang transparency sa lahat ng operasyon, sinimulan na kahapon ng Pasig City Police ang paggamit ng mga body camera.

Pinangunahan nina Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula at Pasig City Police chief Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra ang orientation kahapon hinggil sa paggamit ng body cams.

“This is in compliance to the directive of the Chief PNP (Director General Ronaldo ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa) to utilize the use of body cam in police operation to document all what’s happening in the ground such as checkpoint operations, raid, surveillance, Oplan Sita, Galugad, etc,” ani Sapitula.

“It will also serve as a tool to protect ourselves whenever someone will accuse us of misdemeanor as we perform our duties and responsibilities. Our operations are now transparent to the public,” aniya pa.

Nabatid na umabot sa 48 unit ng body cam ang binili ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Pasig, na ipinamahagi sa 11 police community precinct (PCP), gayundin sa kanilang search at rescue units. - Mary Ann Santiago
