Hinimok ni Pangulong Duterte ang sambayanan na maghintay ng tatlo pang araw para tuluyan nang matapos ang mahigit 10 araw nang bakbakan sa Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Ito ay makaraang iulat ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na nakorner na sa isang partikular ngunit bantay-saradong lugar sa lungsod ang mga terorista ng Maute Group.
“Kaya itong nahirapan tayo, this will be over in about three more days. At grossly disparity. Marami talagang patay sa rebelde. Eh, ang gobyerno naman hindi nagkulang,” sabi ni Duterte.
Sinisikap ng mga tropa ng militar at pulisya na malipol ang mga terorista at Abu Sayyaf Group sa Marawi simula nang salakayin ng mga ito ang siyudad nitong Mayo 23, na umabot na sa 178 ang nasawi. Sa nasabing bilang, 120 ang terorista, 38 ang pulis at 20 ang sibilyan.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Duterte na matagal na sanang nagtapos ang “war” kung hindi lamang isinaalang-alang ng gobyerno ang buhay ng mga sibilyang naiipit sa Marawi, at maging ang mga mapipinsalang ari-arian.
KAYA SA 24-ORAS
“Sa totoo lang, were it not because government is bound by rules and the values of civilization, I can end this war in 24 hours,” sabi ng Pangulo. “But since we are in a civilized society and we are a member of the United Nations and of the Geneva Convention Protocol, nahihirapan ako, and we had to do it to the least maximum damage of collaterals especially in the civilian.”
“Ang kalaban, they have no compassion. Mamatay ‘yung civilian o sundalo o pulis, balewala sa kanila ‘yan,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.
“But we have to align our shots against the enemy. We cannot just press the trigger of a machine gun and just say, ‘to whom it may concern, pasensya na kayo’.
“If you are a President of a democratic state, you have to save lives, you have to be very careful. And the military must also be extra careful not to kill,” ani Duterte.
“But in cases where it cannot really be neutralized or stabilized without the use of bombs, I will not hesitate to order the bombing of places where it could cost so many lives for the government,” dagdag pa ng Presidente.
“I said I assume full responsibility for this [the bombings]. So those bombings were under my orders and I will account for it,” aniya.
‘SORRY’ SA AIR STRIKE
Humingi naman ng paumanhin ang presidente sa pagkasawi ng 10 sundalo sa air strike ng militar kamakailan.
“We are sorry that it happened. And I hope that this will not be repeated. But there is no guarantee. Any war, everything is stretched and it can break any moment,” sabi ni Duterte.
“There is what you would call the Murphy’s Law. The Murphy’s Law states that if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong. ‘Pag posible ba itong mangyari, mangyayari talaga ‘yan,” aniya pa.
HUMANITARIAN CEASEFIRE
Samantala, naudlot naman ang humanitarian ceasefire na ipatutupad sana sa Marawi matapos na muling sumiklab ang sagupaan sa pagitan ng militar at ng Maute kahapon.
Una rito, sinabi ni Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Assemblyman Zaur-Rahman Adiong, tagapagsalita ng provincial crisis management committee, na napagkasunduan ang pagpapatupad ng apat na oras na tigil-putukan.
Napagkasunduan ang humanitarian ceasefire sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process sa Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), na nagsisikap na makipag-mediate para sa Maute.
NAMAMATAY NA SA GUTOM

So, ‘yun po ang ginagamit nila para maipahatid ang mensahe,” sabi ni Adiong. “Ang primary concern po natin dito ay ‘yung mahigit sa 2,000 residents na na-trap po at more than two weeks na po silang hirap; walang pagkain, walang tubig. May mga nababalitaan na po tayong may namamatay na. Kaya pakay namin dito ay ‘yung safety ng mga iyon.
