DAVAO CITY – Binira ng ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) si Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello, chair ng government (GRP) peace negotiating panel, sa walang basehang pahayag na posibleng malagdaan sa Disyembre 10 ang bilateral ceasefire agreement.
Pinanindigan ng mga komunista, sa isang pahayag, na malabo ang bilateral agreement “before or around December 10, pending the release of all political prisoners.
“The longer the GRP takes to fulfill its obligation to release all political prisoners, the prospects of such an agreement ever being forged become ever dimmer,” saad sa pahayag ng CPP.
Idinagdag ng mga komunista na wala pang negosasyon sa pagitan ng GRP at National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) na lalagdaan ang bilateral documents sa Disyembre 10.

Sinabi ni Bello nitong Nobyembre 11, sa sana’y Townhall Interview kay President Duterte ng TV host na si Kris Aquino, na hinahangad nilang maganap ang paglalagda sa simbolikong araw, sa Disyembre 10 na natapat sa pagdiriwang ng International Human Rights Day.
“Bello is conjuring the illusion that a bilateral ceasefire is already in the works in the hope of drawing away attention from the fact that the GRP, so far, has failed to meet its obligation to release political prisoners en masse through a presidential amnesty proclamation,” dagdag dito.
Sinipi si NDFP Negotiating Panel Chief Fidel V. Agcaoili, idiniin ng CPP na “the GRP is negotiating with itself,” kaugnay sa mga pahayag ng GRP chief na nagpalitan na ng drafts ng bilateral ceasefire agreement ang dalawang panig.
Ayon dito, ang kabiguan ng GRP na palayain ang political prisoners ang nagdi-discourage sa rebolusyonaryong puwersa na isulong ang mga negosasyon sa bilateral ceasefire agreement.
Gayunman sinabi ni GRP peace negotiating panel member Angela Librado-Trinidad na tinatrabaho na nila ang pagpapalaya sa 434 political prisoners alinsunod sa batas. (ANTONIO L. COLINA IV)
