Hindi trapo o traditional politician si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nang paboran niya ang paghihimlay sa labi ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos sa Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB).
Ito ang binigyang diin ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, kung saan isinulong lang umano ng Pangulo ang pagpapatupad sa batas na kinatigan din ng Supreme Court (SC).
“The CPP (Communist Party of the Philippines) is entitled to its opinion but PRRD’s not being a trapo is precisely the very reason why he won the presidential elections by a landslide,” ani Panelo.
“It is not PRRD that allowed the burial of Marcos but the existing law and regulations covering it, the President only enforced it pursuant to his constitutional duty to enforce the Constitution and the law. The Supreme Court upheld by a big majority PRRD’s enforcement of the same,” dagdag pa nito.
