Nasungkit ng mga estudyanteng Pinoy ang 35 medalya sa international math at science contest na ginanap sa Tangerang City, Indonesia.

Nakuha nila ang 4 na gold, 14 na silver at 17 bronze medals sa 13th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Primary School 2016 (IMSO) na idinaos nitong Nobyembre 9-13, ayon kay Dr. Isidro Aguilar, team leader at president ng Mathematics Trainers Guild-Philippines (MTG).

Si Indonesian President Joko Widodo ang guest of honor sa opening ceremony.

Ang Philippine team ay pinangunahan ng gold medallists na sina Filbert Ephraim Wu ng MGC New Life Christian Academy at Raphael Dylan Dalida ng St. Mary’s Academy-Pasay sa math, at Kian Colin Chua ng St. Jude Catholic School at Chiara Bernadette Tan-Gatue ng St. Jude Catholic School sa science.
