Nagbanta si Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte na puputulin ang relasyon sa United Nations (UN) kapag patuloy nitong binatikos ang paglaban ng kanyang administrasyon sa ipinagbabawal na gamot na itinuturong dahilan sa pagtaas ng bilang ng mga napapatay.

“So, the next time you issue it, I do not want to insult you. But maybe we’ll just have to decide to separate from the United Nations,” pahayag ni Duterte sa press briefing nitong Linggo ng umaga sa presidential guesthouse sa Department of Public Works and Highways sa Panacan, Davao City.

Sinabi niya na maaaring magpasya siyang bumuo ng kanyang sariling organisasyon at imbitahan ang China at iba pang bansa sa Africa para sumali. Ngunit aalis lamang siya kapag ni-refund ng UN ang lahat ng naging kontribusyon ng Pilipinas.

“The joke is on you. You have to refund me with these so many contributions that we have made all these years.

Isauli ninyo contributions namin and we will go out. We contribute a certain amount for the maintenance of UN, right?

Oh, you return the money to us and we will go out,” aniya.

Idinagdag niya na kayang magtayo ng gobyerno ng mga rehabilitation center gamit ang pera na naiambag ng Pilipinas sa UN.

“With that amount, I can build so many, rehab centers all over the country. But there was a time, I think, that a few countries really contemplated of going out. One was China, I do not know what is inside their minds now,” aniya.

Ayon pa sa kanya, wala namang masyadong naitulong ang UN sa Pilipinas at tinanong ang world body, “when have you done a good deed to my country?

“So take us out of your organization – you have done nothing here, anyway, also. When were you here the last time?

Never. Except to criticize. You do…Food world? Where’s the food? There’s the world, but there is no food. World hunger organization, maybe,” aniya.

Halatang nairita sa batikos sa extrajudicial killings, binanatan ni Duterte ang UN sa hindi pagbigay ng kaunting respeto sa kanya bilang pinakamataas na halal na opisyal ng bansa.

Sinabi ni Duterte na dapat ay nagpadala ang UN ng kinatawan nito nang siya ay maupo sa puwesto noong Hunyo bago batikusin ang pagpatay sa mga suspek sa ilegal na droga.

“You do not go out and just give sweeping statement against a country. What repercussions? You have fallen short of the protocol needed for respect and you want me to respect you. You must be s***… Do no criticize immediately,” aniya.

Sinabi niya na handa siyang makipagkita sa kinatawan ng UN sa bansa upang talakayin ang mga akusasyon ng UN.

“You observe protocol because if you do that directly you are addressing yourself to me. Remember that I am – I do not like to say it because I wanted to be called mayor still – I am the president of the sovereign,” aniya.

Idiniin ng Pangulo na hindi siya natitinag sa UN at hinamon ang mga ito na humarap sa kanya at patunayan ang mga akusasyong ibinabato sa kanya.

“Okay, you guys, you law expert of the United Nations, come here, come here and face me and make the accusations and I will show you the statistics and I will hold your finger and teach you how to count,” aniya.
