Pasado ang organizers ng Davao del Norte sa isinagawang technical inspection noong Lunes para sa pagiging punong-abala nila sa Palarong Pambansa.
Ayon sa mga nagsagawa ng inspeksiyon, handang-handa na ang lalawigan na kahit bukas simulan ang kompetisyon ay puwede nang gawin ang Palaro.
Bagamat sa Mayo 3-9 pa gaganapin ang Palaro, nakahanda na ang lalawigan magmula sa playing venues hanggang sa billeting areas at lokal na transportasyon, gayundin sa aspetong medikal at seguridad ay pumasa sa ginawang inspeksiyon.
“Davao del Norte is 98 percent ready,” pahayag ni Cesar Abalon, head ng Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Sports Events and Activities Unit.

Dumalo rin sa naganap na technical conference ang may 23 tournament managers na mula sa iba’t ibang national sports associations (NSAs).
“There is something unique in every host. But with DavNor, it is the playing facilities, the billeting [both very good preparation] and the warmth of the people of Davao del Norte and the all-out support of the Governor [Rodolfo del Rosario] with his drive to make this the best Palaro ever,” dagdag pa ni Abalon.
Kasama rin nilang dumalo sa technical conference ang mga kinatawan ng DepEd (10 mula sa main office at 5 sa regional heads), national sports associations (23 tournament managers) at (34 na kinatawan ng 17 rehiyon kasama ang Davao del Norte organizers sa pamumuno ni Del Rosario.
“We are hopeful that the conference would ensure a smooth system, particularly in meeting technical requirements—especially those of the tournament managers on whom the fair and refined conduct of the sporting events are dependent upon,” ayon kay Del Rosario.
Ikinagalak din ni Jason Razal, miyembro ng pinagsamang inspection team ng DepEd, at ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang kahandaan ng Davao del Norte sa billeting ng tinatayang 10,000 mga atleta at officials sa isang linggong Palaro.
“Only minimal improvements need to be done as most playing facilities are in place. Most only need ‘finishing touches’ and facilities will be definitely ready for the Palaro,” ani Razal. “The tournament managers say the playing venues are excellent.”
