TATAMPUKAN nina Filipino-American ace tracksters Eric Cray at Kayla Anise Richardson ang 38-man Philippine track and field team na sasabak sa 29th edition ng Southeast Asian (SEA) Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia sa Agosto 19-31.
Sina Cray at Richardson ay kapwa defending champion sa men’s and women’s 100 meters na napagwagihan nila sa Singapore edition noong 2015.
Idedepensa rin ni Cray ang 400 m hurdles title na naitala niya sa record-breaking feat. Si Cray ay isa sa pitong atleta na nakapanalo ng dalawang event sa 2015 SEAG.
Bukod sa dalawang event, sasabak din si Cray sa Kuala Lumpur, sa 4x100 at 4x400 meter relays, habang si Richardson ay nakalista rin sa 200 meters, 4x100 at 4x400 relays.
Pambato rin ng Pinas sa Kuala Lumpur si pole vault specialist Ernest John Obiena na sasabak muna sa London world athletics’ tournament sa August 4-13.
