BILANG bahagi ng paglilinis ng tahanan, isinagawa ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang ‘revamp’ sa mga opisina ng ahensiya – isang linggo matapos matuklasan ang P14M anomalya sa monthly allowances ng mga atleta at coaches.

Sa ginanap na PSC Executive Board meeting nitong Miyerkoles, napagkasunduan ang pagbalasa sa mga opisyal ng bawat opisina upang mapanatili ang ‘transparency and honesty’ sa sports agency.

“It was a collective decision of the board as part of a plan to re-stabilize the organization,” pahayag ni Ramirez.

Kabilang sa nasabing revamp ay ang pagkakatalaga kay Atty. Guillermo Iroy, Jr. bilang acting Executive Director kapalit ni Merlita Ibay na ngayon ay itinalaga bilang Deputy Executive Director for Finance and Administrative Services.

Si Queenie Evangelista, na dating acting head ng Philsports, ang pumalit sa puwesto ni Iroy na Deputy Executive Director.

“As the highest accountable official of the agency, I take responsibility to effect changes, to make sure that there are no gaps in the organization. I feel sad, frustrated, and hurt but we all have to have composure. The stake holders are at peace with these decisions and continue to support us through this,” sambit ni Ramirez.

Sa ngayon ay ang National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice at ang Office of the Solicitor General ay nagsasagawa ng magkakahiwalay na imbestigasyon upang matukoy ang posibleng kasangkot ng empleyado na si Paul Michael Ignacio na kasalukuyan ngayong nakapiit sa NBA Detention Center.

Dinampot ng NBI si Ignacio matapos mag-report ang LandBank hingil sa malaking halaga na nasa personal account nito. Isang ‘non-plantilla’ employee si Ignacio sa nakalipas na limang taon at nakadetalye sa Personnel Department.

Iginiit ni Ramirez na marami pang pagbalasa ang magaganap sa mga susunod na araw.
