MAY bagong pakner ang Tabloid Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) para isulong ang malayang pagbabalita sa kaganapan sa sports.

Nakipagkasundo ang Essential Fruits, Inc., tagapaggawa ng HG Guyabano Tea Leaf, sa TOPS para maging bahagi ng “Usapang Sports” tuwing Huwebes sa National Press Club (NPC) sa Intramuros, Manila.

Bukod sa ‘Usapang Sports’ forum, suportado ng EFI ang TOPS’ pet project “Athlete of the Month.”

Nilagdaan nina EFI president Miguel Atayde, TOPS president Ed Andaya ng People’s Tonight at TOPS project director Arman Armero ng Manila Standard ang memorandum of agreement sa 17th edition ng porgrama nitong Abril 4.

“This is a good opportunity for both EFI and TOPS to work together and promote a common goal in sports development,” pahayag ni Atayde, founding president/project director din ng Youth Football League (YFL).

“On behalf of TOPS, I would like to thank EFI, thru Mr. Atayde, for supporting our organization, our weekly “Usapang Sports” forum and monthly “Athlete of the Month,” sambit ni Andaya.

Sa nakalipas na TOPS “Athletes of the Month”, napili sina world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao (January), swimming superstar Micaela Jasmin Mojdeh (February) at pole vault sensation Natalie Uy (March).

Ang EFI-HG Guyabano Tea Leaf ang ikalimang grupo na nagbigay ng suporta sa bagong tatag na TOPS – binubuo ng mga sports editors, reporters at photojournbalists mula sa mga tabloid newspapers sa bansa.

Nauna nang nagbigay ng ayuda sa TOPS ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) sa pamumuno ni Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez; National Press Club, sa pamumuno ni President Rolando “Lakay” Gonzalo; Glitter Livestream, sa pamamagitan ni actor-director Carlo Maceda at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).
