SINIMULAN ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang tatlong araw na Strategic Planning Workshop kahapon na ginaganap sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Layunin ng nasabing workshop na mapagpalanuhan ng maigi ang mga proyekto ng ahensiya para sa darating na 2019.

Tinipon ni PSC chief William “Butch” Ramirez ang kanyang mga kumisyuner na sina Ramon Fernandez, Celia Kiram, Arnold Agustin at Charles Maxey.

“We are constantly doing this to evaluate our leadership in Philippine sports, as well as areas where we need to progress to be able to serve the public better,” pahayag ni Ramirez.

Pangunahin sa listahan ng PSC ang pagpaplano ngayong 2019 ay ang paghubog sa grassroots sports development, na siyang magpapatibay sa pagkilala sa talento ng mga batang atleta kung saan makakatuwang nila ang Department of Education (DepEd), ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) at ang National Sports Associations (NSAs).

“To strengthen the county’s grassroots framework, we will hold a dialogue with the Department of Education by the end of October and with the different national sports associations in November,” ayon pa Kay Ramirez.

Isinusulong din ni Ramirez na na magkaroon ng regional office ang PSC na makakatuwang ng mga LGUs upang maisagawa ang proyekto ng pampalakasan ng nasabing ahensiya.

“We will hope to have regional offices by 2019 in order to keep in step with our DepEd partners and the volume of demand,” ayon pa sa PSC chief.
