Hindi na isusuko ng anti-death penalty advocates ang kanilang laban kontra sa plano ng pamahalaan na ibalik ang parusang kamatayan.

Ayon kay Rodolfo Diamante, executive secretary ng Episcopal Commission on Prison Pastoral Care (ECPPC) ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), sakaling ipasa ng Kongreso ang pagbabalik ng parusang kamatayan, agad silang dudulog sa Korte Suprema upang kuwestiyunin ang legalidad nito.

“We will go to the Supreme Court. We will exhaust all these legal means available because we believe that it is unconstitutional. It is cruel. It is inhumane,” wika ni Diamante.

Hihilingin din nila ang tulong ng international community dahil lumagda ang Pilipinas sa International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
