Umaasa si Senator Sonny Angara na maisasabatas na ang panukala niyang tax reform matapos itong ilahad bilang isa sa 10 programa ng papasok na administrasyong Duterte.
“We’re happy that the sentiments of our workers, who feel that they are being excessively taxed, are now being heard. We’ve been pushing for income tax reform since we were elected in 2013 when we saw how outdated, unfair and oppressive our current system of taxation is,” ani Angara, chairman ng senate ways and means committee.
Sinabi ni incoming Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez sa konsultasyon sa mga negosyante noong Lunes na balak nilang rebisahin ang income tax brackets para mapababa ang individual at corporate tax.
Sa panukala ni Angara, ibababa ang income tax rates across the board sa 25 porsyento mula 32 porsiyento gayundin ang tax bracket sa 5% mula sa 7%. (Leonel Abasola)
