CEBU CITY – Pinangangambahan ng mga opisyal ng Cebu City ang posibilidad na magkaroon ng crisis situation sa Cebu City Hall kasunod ng pagsuspinde ng Office of the President kina Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, at sa 12 konsehal ng siyudad.
Sinabi ni Labella na inaasahan na niya ang crisis situation sa munisipyo kapag naipatupad na ang suspension order dahil limang konsehal na lang ang matitira para maglingkod sa pamahalaang lungsod.
“I would see a crisis situation here if this would be implemented…If that pushes through, there cannot be a quorum anymore. If there is no quorum, there would be no session. It is a basic requirement,” ani Labella.
Nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Jr. ang desisyon sa kasong administratibo na inihain ni Reymelio Delute laban kay Rama at sa iba pang opisyal ng siyudad.

Napatunayang nagkasala ang 14 na opisyal sa grave abuse of authority sa kontrobersiyal na paglalabas ng P20,000 calamity aid sa lahat ng kawani ng munisipyo noong 2013.
“This office finds respondents Mayor Michael Rama, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, and City Councilors Nestor Archival Sr., Mary Ann de los Santos, David Tumulak, Nendell Hanz Abella, Sisinio Andales, Alvin Arcilla, Roberto Cabarrubias, Ma. Nida Cabrera, Gerardo Carillo, Alvin Dizon, Eugenio Gabuya, Jr., and Noel Eleuterio Wenceslao, all from Cebu City, guilty of abuse of authority and are hereby meted out the penalty of six (6) months suspension from office, which shall not exceed respondents’ unexpired term,” saad sa order na may petsang Abril 7.
