BRASÍLIA (AFP) – Nagbabala ang pinuno ng World Health Organization nitong Martes na ang laban sa Zika, ang virus na isinasalin ng lamok at iniuugnay sa matinding birth defects, ay magiging mahaba at kumplikado.
“The Zika virus is very tricky, very tenacious, very difficult. And so is the Aedes aegypti mosquito,” pahayag ni WHO chief Margaret Chan sa Brasilia, Brazil.
“We have learnt lessons from dengue and from chikungunya outbreaks in the past, so we should expect to see more cases, we should expect this is going to be a long journey.”
