Nais paimbestigahan ni Senator Aquilino Pimentel III ang naglipanang pekeng titulo ng lupa sa bansa, partikular sa General Santos City, na aabot umano sa 6,000 titulo ang hindi totoo.
Sinabi ni Pimentel na ilang dekada na ang paglaganap ng mga pekeng titulo at patunay ito na walang maayos na sistema sa bansa.
“This phenomenon in General Santos City of the proliferation of fake land titles could not have been made possible without the sanction of courts that breathe life into spurious or inexistent titles,” sabi ni Pimentel.
Iginiit pa ni Pimentel na ilang tauhan ng Registrar of Deeds, at mga korte ang sangkot sa anomalya. - Leonel Abasola
