Pangungunahan ng Philippine Basketball Association Developmental League founding members Café France, Boracay Rum at Cebuana Lhuillier ang siyam na koponan na nagpahayag ng kanilang paglahok sa darating na Aspirants’ Cup na nakatakdang magbukas sa Oktubre 27.

Makakasama ng tatlong koponan ang Cagayan Valley, Jumbo Plastic, Lyceum of the Philippine University (LPU), Racal Motorsales Corp., San Sebastian College (SBC), Metro Pacific Investment Corp., Wangs Basketball, AMA University at Manny Pacquiao’s MP Hotel.

Lahat ng nasabing mga koponan ay nagsumite na ng kanilang letters of intent, at tumugon sa itinakdang deadline ng liga noong nakaraang Huwebes (Hulyo 30).

“We’re happy with the turnout. I assure our D-League fans that this season will be as interesting and as exciting as the previous conferences. Our partnership with ATC@IBC Asian Television Content Corporation and Stoplight Media Group makes me all the more optimistic that this season will be a success,” pahayag ni PBA Commissioner Chito Salud.

Ayon pa kay Salud, ang opsiyal na listahan ng mga kalahok sa Aspirants’ Cup ay kanilang ihahayag kapag natapos na ng lahat ng koponan ang kanilang requirements, kabilang na ang tournament fee bago sumapit ang Setyembre 1.

Sa kanilang mga liham, isinaad ng Lyceum, Racal Motorsales Corp., San Sebastian College, Metro Pacific Investment Corp at AMA University na magpapasok sila ng school-based teams.
