Ipinahayag ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. na inaresto si dating Pangulong Rodrigo alinsunod umano sa commitment ng Pilipinas sa Interpol.
Sa isang press conference nitong Martes ng gabi, Marso 11, sinabi ni Marcos na ang pag-aresto kay Duterte ay alinsunod sa commitment ng bansa sa Interpol.
"Mr. Duterte is arrested in compliance with our commitments to Interpol. Hours before his arrival, Interpol Manila received an official copy of the ICC warrant this prompted the Prosecutor General of the Department of Justice to serve the warrant," ani Marcos.
"Interpol asked for help and we obliged because we have commitments to Interpol which we have to fulfill. If we don’t do that, they will no longer help us with other cases involving Filipino fugitives abroad," dagdag pa niya.
