Pumanaw na si Palawan 3rd district Rep. Edward Hagedorn nitong Martes, Oktubre 3, sa edad na 76.
Kinumpirma ito ng opisina ni Hagedorn sa pamamagitan ng isang Facebook post nitong Martes ng umaga.
“With heavy hearts, we inform you of the passing of a beloved friend, brother, husband, father, and public servant, Edward Solon Hagedorn,” saad ng post. “Our dear Congressman died peacefully on October 3rd, 2023, after 76 years of shining his light into the world.”
Hindi naman binanggit sa naturang post ang dahilan ng pagpanaw ng kongresista.

“Cong. Ed's life speaks volumes, particularly in his role as a champion for the environment, tourism, agriculture, and peace and order. His efforts created inclusive spaces for the community and inspired a collective desire for change. It's hard not to be infected by his energy and laughter, which he freely shares with everyone he encounters,” pag-alala ng mga staff ni Hagedorn.
“What truly sets Cong. Ed apart is his ability to lead with authority yet maintain a warm and welcoming approach. His charisma shines through in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on those he touches.”
“Above all, Cong. Ed's life journey has always been fueled by hope and void of fear. He seizes each day as an opportunity to lend a helping hand to others on their own journey,” dagdag pa nito.
Pinasalamatan din ng mga staff ni Hagedorn sa kaparehong post ang mga taong sumuporta at nagmahal umano sa Kongresista nang nabubuhay pa ito.
“On behalf of Cong. Ed, his family, staff and closest kin – we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your love and support, for joining us in celebrating his wonderful life, and most importantly...for being witnesses to the remarkable journey he lived with such zest,” saad ng mga staff ng Kongresista.
“As of the moment, the family has not yet discussed any public service arrangements. However, we promise to keep you informed as soon as we finalize the details. In the meantime, please keep Cong. Ed’s wife and children in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this time of sorrow,” dagdag pa.
Matatandaang bukod sa pagiging House member ni Hagedorn sa 19th Congress sa unang pagkakataon, naging vice chairman siya sa iba’t ibang komite ng Kamara, kabilang na umano ang Committee on the West Philippine Sea.
Naging alkalde naman siya ng Puerto Princesa sa Palawan mula Hunyo 30, 1992 hanggang Hunyo 30, 2001; at mula Nobyembre 12, 2002 hanggang Hunyo 30, 2013.
