Marikina LGU: Ulat na dinukot ang 4 na menor de edad sa lungsod, fake news!
Ibinasura ng Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) nitong Lunes ang kasong illegal possession of firearms and explosives laban kay suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.
Sa 47-pahinang desisyon ni Manila RTC Branch 16 Judge Janice Yulo-Antero, inabsuwelto nito si Espinosa sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9516).
Sa rekord ng kaso, binanggit na anim na baril, kabilang limang rifles at isang sub-machine gun ang nasamsam ng mga awtoridad sa bahay ni Espinosa sa ikinasang pagsalakay sa Sitio Tinago, Barangay Binulho, Albuera, Leyte noong Agosto 3, 2016.
Nauna nang binawi ng bodyguard ni Espinosa na si Marcelo Adorco, ang kanyang statement at sinabing pinilit lamang ito upang pirmahan ang dokumento.
"The truth being is that he was the bodyguard and driver of Mayor (Rolando) Espinosa, especially during cockfights; that the firearms and ammunition were all taken from the houses of Mayor Espinosa and that accused Kerwin has no knowledge about these," sabi ng korte. "Be that as it may, this court rules and so holds that even without his (Adorco) recantation, the prosecution miserably failed to prove the guilt of accused Rolan 'Kerwin' Espinosa beyond reasonable doubt that he was in effect in control and possession over the firearms/weapons and ammunition, neither was he in actual nor constructive possession of the same," dagdag pa ng hukuman.
Nasa abroad si Espinosa, kasama ang pamilya, nang maganap ang pagsalakay, ayon sa rekord ng hukuman.
Umalis sa bansa ang pamilya ni Espinosa patungong Malaysia, Hong Kong at Abu Dhabi noong Hunyo 21, 2016 at umuwi sa Pilipinas noong Nobyembre 16, 2016 matapos arestuhin sa Dubai noong Oktubre.
