Nais ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II na isailalim sa kabuuang kontrol ng Department of Justice (DoJ) ang Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Sa pagdinig sa hinihinging budget para sa 2018 ng DoJ, sinabi ni Samar Rep. Edgar Mary Sarmiento na suportado niya ang apela ni Aguirre na mapasailalim sa kontrol nito ang BuCor.
“Aguirre’s proposal is definitely worth looking into given the National Bilibid Prison’s (NBP) history with the narcotics trade and it’s supposedly persisting connections with it,” ani Sarmiento.
