Lascañas ipinaaaresto ni Aguirre

Iniutos ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na hanapin at hulihin si self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) member, retired policeman Arturo Lascañas.

Nag-isyu si Aguirre ng memorandum na nag-aatas kay NBI Director Dante Gierran na arestuhin si Lascañas na pinaniniwalaang nasa Singapore kasama ang kanyang pamilya makaraang lumabas sa bansa noong Abril 8.

“In the interest of the service and pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby directed to coordinate with the International Police Organization or INTERPOL to gather information on the location and whereabouts of Arturo Lascanas and to coordinate with the proper authorities for his apprehension,” base sa memorandum ni Aguirre na may petsang Hunyo 8.

Ito ay ipinag-utos ni Aguirre matapos mag-isyu ang Davao City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 10 ng arrest warrant laban kay Lascañas noong Hunyo 5.

Nahaharap si Lascañas sa mga kasong two counts of attempted murder at one count of murder kaugnay ng pag-atake at pagpatay sa broadcaster na si Juan “Jun” Pala. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
