Kabuuang 14 koponan ang nagkumpirma ng kanilang paglahok sa 2nd Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman’s Baseball Classic na hahataw sa Nobyembre 8 hanggang Disyembre 14 sa Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium sa Malate, Manila.
Napag-alaman sa opisina ni PSC Chairman Ricardo Garcia, sa pamamagitan ng sekretarya na si Michelle Balunan, na nagkumpirma na ng kanilang paglahok ang 1st PSC Chairman’s Cup Baseball Classic champion at 1st PSC Commissioners’ Baseball Cup titlist na Philab.
Ang ibang kasali ay ang kasalukuyang 76th (2013-2014) UAAP title holder Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles, International Little Association of Manila, Rizal Technological University- Mandaluyong Blu Thunder, Throwback, Unicorns, Philippine Air Force Airmen, Adamson University Falcons, Bulacan State University, National University Bulldogs, University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons at University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.
Magsisimula ang aksiyon sa pagitan ng AdMU at ILLAM sa ganap na alas-7:00 ng umaga. Susundan ito ng Opening Ceremonies bago ang paghaharap sa alas-10:00 ng umaga ng RTU at Throwback, at ang pagdedepensa ng korona ng Philab kontra sa AdU sa ala-1:00 ng hapon.

Mabibiyayaan ng P50,000 cash ang champion squad at ang runner-up ay P25,000 bukod pa sa tropeo. May medalya naman para sa individual awards na MVP, Finals MVP, Best Hitter, Best Slugger, Most RBIs, Most Homerun, Most Stolen Base at Best Pitcher.
“We are holding this event again to strengthen the foundation of baseball through regular competitions involving different teams and at the same time tap young potential talents for future international competitions,” ani Garcia.
