Pinaiimbestigahan na ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. ang naganap na insidente ng pamamaril sa loob ng Ateneo de Zamboanga Junior High School Campus nitong Martes, Agosto 18, 2026.
Matatandaang nagpaputok ng baril ng isang umano’y Grade 7 student sa loob ng classroom sa junior high school campus habang siya ay naka-Facebook live pa.
Ayon sa mga awtoridad, dalawa ang kumpirmadong nasawi kabilang ang suspek.

"We grieve with the families and the entire Ateneo de Zamboanga community over a tragedy that should never have happened," saad ni Marcos sa isang pahayag nito ring Martes.

"Our schools are where we entrust our children to learn, to grow and to dream about the lives ahead of them. They must also be among the safest places in our country," dagdag pa niya.
Saad pa ng Pangulo, inatasan na niya ang mga awtoridad na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa naturang insidente.
"I have directed our law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and to determine what more must be done to prevent another family, another school and another community from suffering the same grief," ani Marcos.
Dagdag pa, "We will work with our schools and communities to strengthen the safeguards that protect our students and ensure that they can pursue their education without fear."
