KABUUANG pitong lalaki at tatlong babae ang kakatawan sa Visayas sa National Training Camp ng Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 – itinataguyod ng Alaska – sa May 18-20 sa Manila.

Sa ikatlong pagkakataon mula noong 2007, isinagawa ang Visayas elimination sa Bacolod nitong weekend na nilahukan ng mahigit 400 kabataan sa Trinity Christian School.

Napili para makasama sa National level ng global youth basketball program sina John Lester Amagan, 14, ng St. Robert’s International Academy; Nathan Jan Jundana, 14, at Heinzy Gabriel Demisana, 13, ng Bacolod Taytung High School; William Agamemnon Allosada, 13, William Archimedez Allosada, 13, William Holan Baxter, 13, at Keane Angelo Yu, 14, ng Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu sa boys division, gayundin sina Dancylle Gabrealene Busime, 12, n g Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino – Recoletos; Danielle Gwen Dusaran, 12, ng University of Negros Occidental Recoletos; at Gin Kayla Relliquette, 12, ng St. Carmen Salles School sa girls division.

Ang 10 ay napili matapos sumailalim sa world-class basketball instruction mula kina Jr. NBA coaches, sa pangunguna ni coach Carlos Barroca at Alaska Ace Tony Dela Cruz, at nagpamalas nang katangian na naaayon sa Jr. NBA core S.T.A.R. values na Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect sa kabuuan ng camp.

“We have kids in Visayas that showed a tremendous amount of potential at a very young age. We hope they will continue to work on their games and look forward to seeing their growth in our future camps within the region,” pahayag ni Barroca.

Makikipagtagisan ng husay ang Visayan contingent sa kapwa Jr. NBA campers mula sa nalalabing Regional Selection Camps na nakatakda sa Butuan (February 24-25), Baguio (March 17-18) at Manila (April 21-22).

Kabilang sa mga dating Jr. NBA All-Stars member na taga-Bacolod na tumayong assistant sina Daniel Coo (2015), Harold Alarcon, Fritz Valencia at Florence Jill Talas (2016) at Chinnsai Demana (2017).
