PINANGALANAN si businessman-sportsman Rudy Yu ng Dickies Underwear bilang bagong Chairman ng Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC).
Isasagawa ng liga ang ikaanim na edisyon sa Disyembre 17.
Tinaguriang ‘Battle of Champions’ ang torneo ang unang programa sa liderato ni Yu, dating miyembro ng University of Santo Tomas varsity team noong dekada 80.

“We are staging this event every year as part of our mission and this will mark our sixth year to help these young players fulfill their dreams,” sambit ni Yu, 56.
“We should help them prepare for bigger battles ahead,” aniya.
Iginiit ni Yu, Vice President for Operations ng Dickies Underwear, na ang naturng liga ay paraan para mabigyan ng oportunidad ang mga batang players at coach na maipakita ang kanilang mga talento.
“A lot of coaches and agents have been watching our games in the past so I believe this will be another avenue for them to pursue their dream to play in major collegiate leagues,” pahayag ni Yu, pumalit sa nagretirong si Leoncio Chua ng MEC Networks.
Ang iba pang miyembro ng Board ay sina Jumbo Plastic Linoleum big boss Jimmy dela Cruz, Cecilio Pedro ng Hapee Toothpaste, Dioceldo Sy ng Blackwater, Terry Que ng Rain or Shine, Jimi Lim ng Ironcon Buildders, at Eduard Tio ng Freego.
Bukod sa mga koponan mula sa UAAP, NCAA at Filipino Chinese Athletic Amateur Federation, inimbitahan din ng Board ang iba pang kampeon ng Cebu league.
Bilang chairman of the board, ang Dickies Underwear ang title sponsor ng torneo.
