Hinihiling ng kongresista sa Kamara na silipin ang pasilidad ng kulungan ni US Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton, killer ng transgender na si Jennifer Laude.

Sa ilalim ng House Resolution No. 353, nananawagan si Kabayan Party-list Rep. Harry L. Roque sa Department of National Defense (DND), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), at Presidential Commission on Visiting Forces Agreement (PCVFA) na payagan ang House of Representatives na inspeksyunin ang pasilidad ng piitan ni Pemberton, bunsod na rin ng ‘independent foreign policy’ ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Nais ng kongresista na malaman kung si Pemberton ay nakakulong nga sa Philippines-United States Mutual Defense Board-Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) facility sa Camp Aguinaldo sa Quezon City.

“There is no telling whether Mr. Pemberton is in fact detained there, as Philippine authorities have steadfastly refused any visit by outside parties – not even the victim’s family and counsel,” ani Roque, naging abogado ng pamilya Laude sa murder trial.

“This is an unacceptable denial of Philippine sovereignty within its own territory,” dagdag pa nito.

Si Pemberton ay pinatawan ng 10-taong pagkabilanggo matapos mapatunayang guilty sa salang homicide.
