Naghayag ng pakikisimpatya si Pangulong Aquino sa mga biktima ng terorismo sa Paris, France, na mahigit 100 katao ang namatay sa magkakahiwalay na pagsabog at pamamaril sa siyudad.
“Terror and brutality have plunged the City of Light, Paris, into the darkness of horror and grief. The Philippines and its people stand in solidarity with the people of Paris and all of France, in this time of deepest sorrow and the gravest outrage against the perpetrators of these crimes,” saad sa pahayag ni Pangulong Aquino.
Nanawagan si Aquino sa iba’t ibang bansa na magkaisa sa pagkondena sa karumal-dumal na pag-atake sa Bataclan Concert Hall, malapit sa Stade de France, at sa mga restaurant.
“In our time of need, France and her people stood shoulder to shoulder with the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. We stand with France now, in the firm belief that the light must never dim in Paris,” dagdag niya.

Kasabay nito, tiniyak ng Malacañang na sapat ang nakalatag na seguridad sa bansa at nanawagan sa mga Pinoy na maging alerto upang maiwasang mangyari sa Pilipinas ang kahalintulad na pag-atake, lalo at idaraos ngayong linggo ang Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Summit, na inaasahang magbubukas ng mga checkpoint ang pulisya sa mga kritikal na lugar.
“For our part, we reassure our fellow citizens that we are taking all necessary precautions. The PNP is on alert and our security forces are assessing the situation, including the continuing evaluation of our security procedures,” ayon sa Pangulo. (Madel Sabater-Namit)
