Ibinasura ng Korte Suprema ang mga petisyon nina Atty. Israelito Torreon at iba pa, at ni Vice President Sara Duterte na kumukuwestiyon sa naging clarificatory hearing sa impeachment case ng House of the Representatives at Committee on Justice noon laban sa bise presidente.
Sa naging desisyon ng Korte Suprema nitong Miyerkules, Agosto 5, 2026, sinabi nilang naging “moot” o hindi na raw na kinakailangang resolusyon ang mga naturang petisyon dahil naaprubahan at naipasa na raw sa Senado ang Articles of Impeachment.
Anila, isinaad daw sa mga petisyon nina Torreon, mga kasamahan niya, at ni VP Sara na an lumampas umano sa constitutional authority ang Kamara sa pagkakasa umano nito noon ng mga pagdinig na may kaugnay sa impeachment complaints.
Dagdag pa ng Korte Suprema, “They also questioned the Committee's findings that the complaints were sufficient in form, substance, and grounds.”
Diin ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman, tanda raw ng pagpapasa ng Kamara ng Articles of Impeachment sa Senado na tapos na ang tungkulin ng mababang kapulungan ng Kongreso kaugnay sa proseso ng impeachment at pagsusulong ng kaso nito.

“As a result, the actions the petitioner sought to stop had already been completed.”
“The SC further held that the impeachment process had already moved to the Senate, which had convened as an impeachment court and had begun proceedings,” paglilinaw nila.
Pagpapatuloy ng Korte Suprema, hindi na raw maapektuhan ng kahit anong mga kontrobersiya sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Justice ang umuusad na ngayong Senate impeachment trial laban kay VP Sara.
“Any ruling on the validity of the actions taken by the House and its Committee on Justice would no longer affect the controversy,” pagtatapos pa nila.
Samantala, habang sinusulat ito, wala pa namang inilalabas na tugon, reaksyon, o pahayag sina Torreon o si VP Sara kaugnay rito.
