Inanunsyo ng Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) noong Huwebes, Hulyo 16, ang pagbubuo nila ng dalawang “Blue Eagle Athletic Scholarship Funds” bilang pagbibigay-parangal sa mga namayapang manlalaro ng Ateneo Blue Eagles men’s basketball team na sina Rene Baterbonia at Divine Adili.
“Ateneo de Manila University has established two Blue Eagle Athletic Scholarship Funds in honor of our beloved student-athletes, Divine Adili and Rene Baterbonia. More than a tribute, these Funds are our promise that their names, their spirit, and the joy they brought to Ateneo athletics will live on in the young Eagles who follow them,” saad ng ADMU sa kanilang liham.
Saad pa ng pamantasan, bawat fund ay magbibigay ng tulong-pinansyal sa student-athletes na magmumula sa mga lugar sa labas ng Metro Manila.
Ito ay pangangasiwaan ng Office of Admission and Aid ng ADMU upang matiyak na ang iniwang legasiya nina Adili at Baterbonia ay patuloy na magsisilbing inspirasyon sa papasok na student-athletes.
“Each Fund will provide financial assistance to deserving student-athletes who hail from outside Metro Manila and will be administered by the Office of Admission and Aid, ensuring that Divine’s and Rene’s legacy continues to open doors, lift dreams, and form men and women for and with others,” paliwanag ng ADMU.

Sa pagtatapos ng anunsyo, ibinahagi ng ADMU ang naisin nilang pagtibayin ang kanilang pangakong pangalagaan ang mga miyembro ng kanilang komunidad upang matiyak na bawat mag-aaral ay patuloy na magtiwala sa kanilang pamantasan.
“As a community, we also take this moment to renew our commitment to care more deeply for one another, so that the Ateneo our students come home to each day is ever more worthy of the trust placed in us,” paninindigan ng pamantasan.
“May we, as one community, honor Divine and Rene not only with our remembrance, but with our renewal,” dagdag pa nila.
Matatandaang naiulat na pumanaw sina Adili at Baterbonia noong Hunyo 8 dahil sa trahedyang pagkalunod na nangyari sa kanilang team-building activity sa Dipaculao, Aurora.
