“Dear Martin, you know what you did to the country…”
Naglabas ng pahayag ang social media personality at political content creator na si Franco Mabanta laban kay Leyte 1st District Rep. at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez matapos siyang mahuli ng mga awtoridad.
Matatandaan kasing natiklo ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) si Mabanta at apat na iba pa noong gabi ng Martes, Mayo 5, 2026, dahil sa umano'y bantang extortion kay Romualdez.
Ayon naman sa inilabas na pahayag ni Mabanta sa kanilang Facebook page na Peanut Gallery Media Network nitong Miyerkules, Mayo 6, mariin niyang sinabing inosente sila at setup lang daw ang naging paghuli sa kanila.
Diin niya, natapos na raw kasi nila ang isinagawa nilang komprehensibo at mapanganib na pananaliksik para himayin ang umano’y korapsyon ni Romualdez noong nanunungkulan pa ito bilang Speaker sa Kamara.

“Over the last five months, PGMN completed immense, comprehensive, painful research on the breathtaking national corruption of Martin Romualdez while he was Speaker of the House. What we have is devastating,” pagsisimula niya.

Ani Mabanta, nakabuo raw sila ng videong may tagal na 90 minuto kung saan nagpapakita raw iyon ng mga mabibigat ng ebidensya at maaari na nila sana iyong ilabas anomang oras.
“The episode was filmed several weeks ago. It has been fully edited — it is 90 minutes-long, packed with hard evidence, and ready for release. That is why this is happening,” aniya.
Giit niya, “There was no extortion. There were ZERO threats from us. That’s all bullshit. The ‘evidence’ provided showed one side of the story. We committed NO CRIME: AND WE CAN PROVE IT.”
Saad ni Mabanta, nakatanggap na raw sila ng babala mula sa kanilang mga bibigating kakilala at kaibigan dahil seryoso raw ang maaaring mangyari sa kanila at maaari pa silang hantingin ng mga hitman.
“Days before our arrest, we had been privately warned multiple times by powerful close friends who were aware of the situation that there is legitimate concern for our physical safety in that any or all of us could be hurt or killed by hitmen,” ‘ika niya.
Pagpapatuloy pa niya, nakahanda raw ang kanilang grupo na ilabas at ipanood sa buong Pilipinas ang naturang video laban kay Romualdez kung may mangyayaring anomang masama sa kanila.
“In light of this, even before the arrest, I gave specific/explicit instructions that if anything — literally ANYTHING, be it fatal or injurious — happens to any of us in any capacity, our legal teams and trusted allies are to fully publish the 90-minute exposé on every major social media platform for everyone in the Philippines to see,” pagtitiyak niya.
Hinaing pa niya, “We at PGMN have always taken profound and sincere pride in going after the bad guys. Yesterday we made the difficult choice to go after the worst of them all. And now we are where we are.”
Nagawa ring magbigay ng mensahe ni mabanta sa mga anak niyang lalaki na lima at dalawang taong gulang upang makita raw ng mga ito ang kanilang tatay na lumaban para sa katotohanan kapag lumaki na ang mga ito.
“If this is the price to pay to do what’s right, then so be it. I want my five-year-old and two-year-old sons to look back at these decisions when they’re older and see the kind of man their dad was,” aniya.
“Dear Martin, you know what you did to the country. We know what you did to the country,” pagtatapos pa niya.
Samantala, habang sinusulat ito, wala pa namang inilalabas na pahayag, tugon, o reaksyon si Romualdez kaugnay rito.
